AIDA 3

Are you an AIDA2 freediver (or equivalent from another organization) looking to enhance your skills and dive deeper? This course delves into the theory of freediving, helping you understand the physiology and techniques necessary for deeper dives. You’ll improve your freediving performance while advancing your safety and rescue skills through four theory sessions, two pool sessions, and four open water sessions.

The course aims to equip you with the skills and knowledge to independently plan and engage in freediving activities with similarly experienced buddies. The AIDA3 course also focuses on developing new skills and techniques across common freediving disciplines, including Static Apnea, Dynamic Apnea, and Constant Weight.

Content includes:
– Theory: Physics, Physiology, Mammalian Diving Reflex, Ethics, Training Concepts, Planning Dive Sessions, Lung Volume Measurements
– Equalization: Advanced equalization using the Frenzel Technique
– Techniques: Freefall & Buoyancy, Warm-Ups, CO2 Training Tables
– Safety: Advanced Safety and Rescue Training
– Pool: Static & Dynamic Pool Training
– Open Water: Free Immersion, Constant Weight

Duration: 4 days (or optional 5 days)
Prerequisites: Completion of the AIDA2 freediver course or equivalent. Must be 18 years or older, or over 16 years of age with parental or guardian consent
Requirements: 2:45 min STA / 55m DYNB / 24m CWTB / Rescue from 10-15m / Theory Exam (75%)
Remark: Certification as an AIDA3 freediver is contingent upon meeting all performance and skill requirements set by AIDA standards.
