AIDA 2

The AIDA2 freediving course is ideal for individuals who are comfortable in the water, can swim at least 200 meters continuously in any stroke, and / or have prior experience using a diving mask and snorkel. It is also suitable for those with some freediving experience, whether self-taught or through confident snorkeling (diving down to depths of 5 meters or more), as well as certified scuba divers.

This course is likely the most challenging yet rewarding AIDA freediving experience. For those already at ease in open water, it serves as a foundational starting point, emphasizing proper technique and safety to enable you to buddy with other AIDA2 freedivers. The course includes three theory sessions, two pool sessions, and three open water sessions.

Content includes:
– Theory: Physiology, Depth & Pressure, Equipment, Disciplines, Safety, The Environment
– Breathing for Freediving: Breathing Exercises, Relaxation
– Equalization: Depth & Pressure
– Safety: Buddying, Blackout, and LMC (pool and open water)
– Technique: Duck dive, Finning (pool and open water)
– Pool: Static and Dynamic training
– Open Water: Free Immersion, Constant Weight

Duration: 3 days (optional spread over 4 days)
Prerequisites: Must be 18 years or older, or over 16 years of age with parental or guardian consent
Requirements: 2:00 min Static / 40m Dynamic / 12m Constant Weight / Theory Exam (75%)
Remark: Certification as an AIDA2 freediver is contingent upon meeting all performance and skill requirements set by AIDA standards.
