Pim Vermeulen has long championed the unique excitement and camaraderie of AIDA team competitions. Inspired by this vision, Immersion, together with several of our students, organized the inaugural Sinai Freediving Cup at the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026—a team-based pool competition that brought the Dahab freediving community together.
The event proved to be a tremendous success, exceeding expectations in both participation and atmosphere. By focusing on the freediving schools of Dahab, the competition fostered friendly rivalry, teamwork, and a strong sense of community. Both editions were marked by incredible enthusiasm, high energy, and an unforgettable spirit of sportsmanship.
Following the overwhelming positive response, preparations are already underway for the third edition, which is scheduled to take place in Autumn 2026.
