Immersion Freediving, in collaboration with local organizer Allison Chan, founder of Apnea UK, proudly hosted our third of five AIDA Junior Judge Courses during this month-long journey. After successful courses in Guangzhou and Hong Kong, our third stop was London, where we focused exclusively on the pool disciplines of the AIDA Junior Judge course. We received fantastic support from Allison and the management of the sports center, who provided us with an excellent teaching room and pool facilities for both the theoretical and practical parts of the course.
A New Generation of Judges
During this course, Ralph Staudigl assisted me as part of his own development towards reaching a higher AIDA judge level in the near future. Ralph’s contribution was greatly appreciated—and so was his habit of bombarding me with interesting and sometimes challenging questions throughout the course!
The AIDA Junior Judge course in London was a great success. We were fortunate to have a large group of enthusiastic and dedicated students, who approached the course with great energy, professionalism, and plenty of good old-fashioned British humor. All participants successfully met the course requirements, demonstrating the knowledge and practical skills needed to take on their new responsibilities as AIDA Junior Judges.
We are delighted to welcome this new group of judges to the AIDA community and wish them lots of success, exciting competitions, and plenty of joy as they begin their judging journey. We are confident they will make a valuable contribution to the growing freediving community.
Thank You, London!
A huge thank you to Allison for organizing the course and for hosting me at your home. Your hospitality made the whole visit even more enjoyable. A big thank you to Ralph for assisting throughout the course—and, of course, for keeping the questions coming!
And finally, thank you to all the students for your enthusiasm, professionalism, and good humor. You made this course a great experience. Thank you, London, for the amazing atmosphere. I truly enjoyed my time here and am already looking forward to coming back next year—this time for a holiday!
But before that, Aruna and I hope to see you all in Sharm El Sheikh, where we can complete the depth part of your AIDA Junior Judge training.
See you in the water!
